Professional Development

Shared Waters offers comprehensive, on-site professional development for educators implementing either of our curriculum pathways:

Shared Waters (Grades 3–5)

Teachers gain hands-on experience with all 10 lessons, including schoolyard or stream-based field investigations, water-quality testing, data analysis, and student-driven environmental action projects.

Salty Streams and Safer Streets (Grades 6–9)

Educators explore all 11 lessons in this real-world investigation of road salt, winter safety, and watershed health. The training includes hands-on investigations, field experiences, data analysis, and support for guiding students as they evaluate solutions and make evidence-based recommendations.

Led by experienced university faculty and environmental educators, our full-day sessions prepare teachers to implement each curriculum with confidence. We provide the materials and resources needed for an engaging day of professional learning, and teachers leave with practical strategies, ready-to-use tools, and a clear understanding of how to support students through investigation, sensemaking, and informed environmental action.
